Sandbar Beach Club in the Mirador

Sandbar Beach Club is your one stop shop for everything you want to do in the Mirador. They have an indoor bar with a pool table and pretty ample seating. The theme is a mix of old Mexico (all the furniture is equipales) and a little southwest (the floor is cement and there are cacti scattered around) to bring in the flair from both sides of the border.  Though the inside is a pretty neat, eclectic little dive bar, the fun happens outside. The back patio area is about 4 times the size of the inside and it is home to the only fully circular bar in Puerto Peñasco. At any given time, there are 2 or 3 bartenders literally running in circles, slinging drinks, and dishing out that good ol Sandbar humor as they do it!

Don’t be fooled by the innocent décor, that bar is made for dancing on! Girls, make sure you wear flats or wedges as the whole floor of the back patio is sand. Wet your whistle at the bar, then head over to the horseshoe pit (weekly tournaments are on Wednesday and Thursday nights) or try out your arm at the volleyball court. Yes, there is a full size volleyball court at Sandbar Beach Club! There is also food service outside with plenty of tables and chairs. On very special occasions, they open the back up to groups and bands from around Rocky Point and Caborca for concerts. Many a battle of the bands have been hosted here.

Sandbar Beach Club in the Mirador is right on Matamoros street and Durango. As you head south on Matamoros, look for the big, inflated Corona can on the top of the building.

Kitchen hours: 8am-10pm Sunday through Wednesday; 8am-12am Thursday-Saturday
Tuesdays are golf cart drive in movie night!
Wednesdays and Thursdays are horseshoe tournament nights!
