Bird Island
"Bird Island" is the local name given to "Isla de San
Jorge", 27 miles south of Rocky Point. It gets it's nickname (and coloring) from the
thousands of birds that call this rock home. The Birds share the island with hundreds of
sea lions as well. The island's idyllic setting makes it a popular destination for
snorklers, scuba divers and eco-tourists. The 46' "Island
Explorer" makes trips to Bird Island nearly every saturday year round.
